Richard Parnell

Specialist Areas:

Richard is Head of the Employment Department and advises both employers and employees on all aspects of employment law including unfair dismissal, redundancy, TUPE, discrimination and equal pay. Richard has a strong reputation for representing trade unions and their members and regularly appears as an advocate in the Employment Tribunal.

Career History:

Richard has a B.A. Honours degree in Politics and International Relations from Lancaster University where he studied between 1992-5.  After completing the CPE and LPC at the College of Law in York, Richard undertook his training contract with local firm Chattertons before being admitted as a Solicitor in 1999.   He joined Bridge McFarland in January 2001, becoming a Partner in May 2004. Richard is currently a member of the firm's Management Board.

Personal:

Richard is a keen footballer and badminton player and also enjoys playing golf when he can. In 2010 he started running again and has run the Lincoln and Woodhall Spa 10k races in that year.
