Criminal Injuries
If you have suffered injury as a result of being a victim of violent crime, you may be entitled to compensation under the 'Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority' scheme.
You may be eligible for compensation if:
- You have been physically or psychologically injured as a result of a violent crime within the last two years
- Your parent, child, husband, wife or partner died as a result of a violent crime within the last two years
- You have a close relationship with another person who has been the victim of a vliolent crime within the last two years and you were present when the crime took place causing psychological injury
- The crime took place in England, Scotland or Wales
- The crime was reported to the police within 48 hours after it happened (unless there are good reasons not to have reported within this timeframe)
